Location: From Goldsboro, take Stevens Mill Road west to Black Jack Church Road and turn left. Cemetery is on the right beside the road.

    Commemorative Stone (Front side) Near this location stood Neuse Friends Meeting House 1841 – 1890 Original site in the Quaker Neck on the south side of the Neuse River was deeded by Richard Cox in 1782 to the religious society of the people called Quakers. The plot contained two acres and 8/121 parts of an acre including the meeting house of the said society called Quakers where now stands. In 1841 Richard Cox’s grandson Stanton Cox exchanged an equal sized plot here when Neuse Preparatory Meeting became officially Neuse Monthly Meeting of Friends. Thomas Hollowell and Thomas Kennedy were local trustees and Nathan Mendenhall and Thomas Hunt were yearly meeting trustees.
