Abraham Whitehead Cowart was born in 1778 in Dobbs County, NC. He was
my maternal 4th great grandfather. He moved to Emanuel County, Georgia
where he raised his children. He died in 1850 probably in Emanuel County, Ga.
His wife's name was Civil Horne, born in 1779. Their children were:
Sarah Cowart born abt 1805 in Summit, Emanuel County, Georgia.
Stephen A. Cowart was born 18 Jun 1810 in Emanuel County, Georgia, and died
20 Sep 1882 in Decatur County, Georgia. He married Catherine Fann abt 1846 in
Emanuel County, Georgia, daughter of Elijah Fann and Martha. She was born 5
Mar 1819, and died 4 Jun 1899 in Miller County, Georgia.
John Horne Cowart was born 20 Feb 1814 in Summit, Emanuel County, Georgia,
and died 20 June 1877 in Jenkins County, Georgia. He married Ciny Miller on
Oct 28, 1838 in Emanuel County, Georgia. She was born 19 Jul 1809 in Bulloch
County, Georgia, and died 7 Aug 1873, in Jenkins County, Georgia.
James John Cowart was born abt 1818 in Summit, Emanuel County, Georgia,
and died abt 1879 in Emanuel County, Georgia. He married Emily Ann Proctor
abt 1838 in Emanuel County, Georgia. She was born 1819 and died Oct 1861.
He married Sarah Kirkland 2 Mar 1862 in Emanuel County, Georgia.
Patience Cowart was born abt 1822 in Summit, Emanuel County, Georgia.
Nathaniel Cowart was born 1823 in Summit, Emanuel County, Georgia. He
married Matilda Cobb. She was born 1822.
George Washington Cowart was born abt 1824 in Summit, Emanuel County,
Georgia. He married Sarah unknown. She was born abt 1822 in Emanual
County, Georgia.
David Cowart was born in Summit, Emanuel County, Georgia.
Cullen Cowart was born 1826 in Summit, Emanuel County, Georgia.
Patsy Cowart was born abt 1830 in Summit, Emanuel County, Georgia.
Sallie Cowart was born abt 1831 in Summit, Emanuel County, Georgia.

Frances Cowart, the daughter of Elisha Cowart, was born on 16 February 1768 and
died in New Hanover County, NC on 10 February 1812. The children of Jonathan
and Frances (Cowart) Williams were:

Elizabeth Williams, born 18 July 1789, died in Pike County, Ala. on 18 April 1866.
