Harvey E. Rose, b. 23 Sep 1909 - d. about age 59
Harvey Rose was a son of Marshall Franklin and Isabelle [Belle] Morgan Rose of Wayne County.
He and his family resided in Rocky Mounty, NC. Other children of Marshall and Isabelle were
David Franklin, b. 6 Jun 1906, m. Annie Clyde Braswell; Jesse Belle, b. 16 Mar 1908, m.
Romie S. Williamson of Clinton, NC; and Dennis Austin Rose, b. 11 May 1911 who was adopted
by a Johnson family in Littleton.
Belle remarried to Samuel F. McClenny and they had a child, Samuel. Belle died and Samuel
was raised by Marshall's sister, Johnnie Rose McClenny, wife of Daniel McClenny of Goldsboro.
Samuel F. McClenny remarried to Callie Wadsworth. "Miss Callie's" only son, as far as I know,
was Donald.
Marshall Franklin and Johnnie Rose McClenny were children of John Wright Rose and Susan Ann King.
Susan was the daughter of Barnabas King and Emily Rhodes.

Rocky Mount - David Franklin Rose, 68, retired farmer, died Tuesday.
Funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday, Johnson Funeral Chapel, the Revs. Henry
Huggins and Charles Crisp. Burial, Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
Surviving: four sons, Marshall, Dennis, and Earl of Rocky Mount and
Herschel Rose of Alexandria, Va.; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Eatmon
of Rocky Mount; a brother, D.A. Rose of Littleton; a half-brother
Samuel McClenny of Raleigh; a sister, Mrs. Jesse Belle Williamson
of Clinton; nine grandchildren.

Ex-Mayor of Littleton Dies at 62
Littleton - Dennis Austin Rose, 62, former mayor of Littleton, died
Monday. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Littleton
Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Rose was operator and owner of Rose's Supermarket in Littleton. He had
served as mayor and town commissioner of Littleton and as a member of
the Halifax County Planning Board.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Louise Hayes Rose; sons, Dennis A. Jr.
of Fanwood, N.J., William J. Rose of the home; daughter, Mrs. William
J. O'Neal of Lexington, Mass.; sister, Mrs. Romie S. Williamson of
Clinton; half-brother Samuel McClenny of Raleigh; three grandchildren.
